oooogh. really good. the censorship of the word queer hits so hard and especially with the dare i say trans coding... Royal forced into the role of a KING themed supervillain and all. I really loved this game!! I'm amazed you did all of this in renpy too!!
Incredible to make a deeply touching story about a weird, desperate man hungry for any hope... and also have a cute little joke about how terribly he misses social cues when one of his closest friends probably has a crush on him as the tiniest little aside.
this game has a huge technical issue in Firefox:
changing the size of the browser window immediately makes the graphics disappear for the rest of the game
I love Royal so much. I AUDIBLY gasped at the word "Queer" being edited out. How fucking dare they. I wasn't sure if there were any secrets hidden in the console or in the log of the game like it was hinting at but I didn't find any. Otherwise, I hope royal lives their best life out there between games, and maybe even goes on a date with that one guy they very obviously have a crush on hehe
This was my first time hearing anything about these characters. Literally my first interaction was with this character, here. I'm here for a villain that just wants to succeed for once. I'd love another spinoff where they succeed, but it's not in a way they'd be able to notice it.

im going to cry oh my god... i love how much we're able to learn about ROYAL in such a short amount of time- from his panic to his longing to be free of his assigned role he's SUCH a guy. saddest wet cat in existence. i love him sm i want to hold him in my hands like a hamster. i love how he climbs out of the frame at the end- its such a nice wayh to show how hes leaving the narrative taking back his autonomy. love it sm
